Margaux wines are among the most pleasant and aromatic. The whole world envies their sweet fruity, spicy and smoky aromas, the distinction of their tannins and the right balance between alcohol and acidity. Cabernet Sauvignon, the emblematic Médoc grape variety, covers 60% of the appellation, providing structure, bouquet and ageing potential. The wines have a dense, dark garnet color. After ageing, the tannic structure is fine, supple and elegant, with magnificent length on the palate. 1961 is certainly "the" vintage of the century. Its particularity is to have produced small volumes of extraordinary quality. Spring brought frosts, which reduced volumes. Then it was all sunshine, and the harvest took place in a warm climate with perfectly ripe grapes. The wines have great ageing potential.
