    In a few words ...

This 100% Shiraz comes from a vineyard in Marananga, planted in 1958. These old vines have been tended by hand, and its low yields of small, concentrated Shiraz berries make the vineyard a marvel. The Laird 2018 shows all the opulence and elegance of previous Lairds, but with a complexity and precision that will allow it to age gracefully for 20 to 30 years.

    Tasting notes

    Appearance

    Bright but shallow ruby-red color.

    Aroma

Intense, rich dark fruits are fascinating in Torbreck's The Laird. Dark chocolate, spice and game meat provide a deep, decadent backbone.

    Taste

The palate is intoxicating, blackberries and plums assert themselves before chocolate, mocha and smoky notes open up. With a tight tannic profile and generous oak, this is an extraordinary wine.
