Founded in the early 90s, mas cal demoura is one of the pioneering estates to have contributed to the qualitative revolution in languedoc wines. Since 2004, Isabelle & vincent goumard have been concentrating their energies on interpreting the great terroirs around jonquières in the heart of the larzac terraces, and helping the wine world discover these magnificent soils. The estate is located in jonquières, some thirty kilometers northwest of montpellier, in the heart of the larzac terraces. The generous Mediterranean climate is balanced by the fresh air of neighboring Larzac. Freshness and acidity are thus preserved, and the day-night temperature differences during the ripening period contribute to the construction of a very fine aromatic palette. Eleven grape varieties are grown. The aim is to find the grape variety best suited to expressing the terroir's identity in each plot, in a quest for harmonious, balanced wines. The estate's 16 hectares are planted on limestone and clay-limestone soils, giving the wines depth and energy. Yields are naturally low (15 to 25 hl/ha).
