Bodegas Paternina is a wine and spirits company of Spanish origin. The company is based in Haro, La Rioja and listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange until 2009, when it was delisted. The original winery, founded in Federico Paternina Ollauri by, was inaugurated in 1896. In 1922, it expanded its activity by building a large winery in the town of Haro, with modern machinery and innovative equipment. The "Bodega Paternina" was acquired in 1984 by Marcos Eguizábal, along with the "Bodegas Franco-Spagnole" Logrono. In 1994, it merged with Internationale Bodegas de Jerez de la Frontera, thus having two main divisions. It has developed, particularly since the 90s a major expansion and renovation. So, currently, it develops, matures, bottles and distributes wines from Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Jerez, the most important names in Spain. Paternina agglomerated under the brand are numerous wineries created or acquired in the process of brand expansion.
