The winemaker
Áster was born in 1989 with the purchase of the estate's vineyards. A unique 87.3-hectare terroir, with an average altitude of 800 meters and vines at least 20 years old.
Located in Anguix, near Burgos, a much higher region by Ribera del Duero standards, we find Aster in the heart of the Ribera del Duero DOC. 100% of the grapes are Tinta del País (Tempranillo). All the grapes used in Aster are self-produced on the estate.
It wasn't until 2000 that the château-style cellar was built and wine sales began under the Aster brand.
Two wines are produced: Aster Crianza, a blend of selected plots, and Finca El Otero, a single vineyard from the estate's most special plot.
