The winemaker

The story of Domaine Colmant begins with Jean-Philippe Colmant. This former tombstone maker didn't settle in Franschhoek with the intention of making wine, but became a winemaker because it was the most natural choice in this idyllic corner of South Africa, which his entire family had chosen in the early 2000s. Today, Domaine Colmant is the only South African winery to produce only bubbles. The positioning chosen by Jean-Philippe Colmant, a great lover of champagne, is more qualitative than that of the majority of South African sparkling wines.
