The wines of sauterne develop a "roti" bouquet with age, with notes of honey, hazelnut and candied orange.
The 1988 vintage is a classic vintage with an advantage to the right bank. Some Pomerols and Saint Emilions eclipsed their 1989 and 1990 cadets in elegance. The red wines were very tannic, very colorful, very complex. These are long-ageing wines from which we can expect a fine, powerful bouquet as they age.
