Clos Rousseau is a parcel of almost 16 hectares of relatively light, well-drained, gently sloping soil to the southwest of the hamlet of Saint-Jean. Maturities are often very good. This wine comes from vines that have been worked to the highest quality standards: Cordon de Royat pruning, low yields, integrated pest management, green harvesting... It is assumed that this climat owes its name to former owners: Rousseau being a very common surname in the region, it is very likely that the parcel belonged to a Rousseau family in the past. In addition, as many of the walls surrounding the plot are still in place, the climat can be called "Clos".
