In a few words ...

Sanguis Christi is worthy of France's finest wines. Jean-Michel Deluc, former sommelier at the Ritz, describes it as "the premier grand cru of Bordeaux". You could call it a "sacred" wine, halfway between the crus of Bordeaux and the black-wine of Madiran, which are known for their ageing qualities. Sanguis Christi is a structured, powerful wine that reveals all the elegance of Malbec on the Roques terroir. Thanks to a selection of the best terroirs, 50% matured in new barrels, 50% in one-year-old barrels for 12 to 14 months, this wine already offers a velvety texture and aromas that mark its evolution (vanilla, cinnamon, cherry, spices...). And the 2008 vintage, exceptional in the South-West region, is already very rare!

Fantastic power! 2008, but this is a young man who can wait wisely in the cellar, or be drunk now after some time in the decanter. Fruity, present but supple tannins, well integrated. Drank with citrus lamb, a very good match.

what exuberance in everything the nose is incredibly fruity (black cherries...) the palate is taken by storm, the substance is dense and the melting of the tannins leaves you dreaming.

The deep blood-red color is surprising for a wine over 10 years old. The nose is a little more subdued than the astonishing plum, cocoa and tobacco flavors of this wine, whose powerful roundness and slightly taut finish still give reason to hope for ageing. In short, magnificent. Argentinian Malbec beware!

A very pleasant surprise. The bottle is attractive and beautiful, but the most important thing is what's inside. A dense wine, ready to drink after 1 to 2 hours of opening or decanting, but still promising a long life.

bright garnet-red color, complex spicy nose, blueberry-cassis impression, powerful nervous wine, fine, balanced tannin, probably opened too young, keep for 2/3 more years. Best served in the evening, so don't hesitate to open 2 hours beforehand. Tried with duck breast, perfect nervousness on this slightly fatty meat.

It's an excellent wine, a Malbec that's well suited to Cahors. In my opinion, this wine should be decanted two or three hours before tasting, as it's one of those wines you just don't forget.
