Punica - samas 2020agripunica (spa agricola punica) is an estate based in Sardinia, formed as a joint venture between the Sardinian cooperative cantina di santadi and tenuta san guido, producer of one of Italy's most famous wines, sassacaia. It produces two red wines made from carignano grapes and a single white wine. The company was launched in 2002, after the famous Italian winemaker giacomo tachis became interested in sardinia and persuaded the sassacaia winemaker sebastiano rosa to buy land there. In collaboration with cantine santadi, rosa bought two estates, barrua and narcao, in south-western sardinia. The estates belong to the carignano del sulcis zone. However, the wines are made under the isola dei nuraghi igt to give more blending options.samas is a blend of vermentino (80%) and chardonnay (20%). The grapes are pressed in whole bunches and transferred to cold, inert conditions. Fermentation, which is controlled at 16°C, is prolonged by keeping the wine on its lees for 40 days, with batching. The wine from each cuvée is yeasted in stainless steel vats for 2.5 months. The wines are blended and yeasted for 3 months in small concrete vats.cépages: 80% vermentino, 20% chardonnay
