Established in 1522, philipponnat is a historic family-run Champagne house that once supplied the sun king louis xiv. With a rich winegrowing heritage of some twenty hectares of classified Premier and Grand Cru vineyards, including the famous clos des goisses, philipponnat also stands out for its know-how. It is one of the few to apply the principle of "solera sous-bois", which consists in keeping... the reserve wines in oak barrels for blending with the non-millesimés. This principle is a hallmark of the company's style, and is reflected in the tasting of the Cuvée Royale Réserve. Viney, powerful and well-balanced, it impresses with its aromatic intensity, with notes of citrus fruit, brioche and honey. Appearance
Gold with amber reflections, fairly deep thanks to the Pinot Noir grape variety. Fine, quick, persistent mousse.
Aroma
Initial nose of vine blossom, lime blossom and lightly toasted fresh bread, followed by red fruit, citrus and honey on aeration.

Taste
Beautiful attack, vinous, fruity (redcurrant, raspberry, ripe grape) and well-structured, full-bodied and long, finishing on a light note of cookie and freshly baked bread.
