Tuscany isn't just famous for its scenery: world-renowned wines come from this region. Plenty of sunshine and sufficient rainfall on poor limestone soils provide optimal conditions for high quality. Derived from sanguis jovis, 'blood of jupiter', this ancient Italian grape variety has been given its name. It is considered one of Italy's most important grape varieties and is grown throughout the country, but preferably in Tuscany. One of the slow-maturing varieties, the grapes are not harvested until October, even in warm weather. The resulting wines are generally high in acidity and tannin, and light red in color. Sangiovese wines form the basis of some exceptional Italian reds. Tuscany's flagship, Chianti, is made from at least 80% Sangiovese. Wine characteristics: ruby-red color, delicate bouquet with aromas of raspberry, wild berries and violets. Harmonious and soft, lively acidity with a persistent finish of maraschino cherry and almond. residual sugar:0.30 / acidity:5.00 stainless steel vat allergene:enthält sulfite
