Clear notes of barriquen, plum compote, wood fire, silky elegance with gentle acidity like a main artery, the mighty rio ebro flows through the rioja wine region. The river is largely responsible for the character of Rioja wines. Its various deposits dominate the soils, and its thermoregulatory influence determines the microclimate. In the southeastern part of the region, rioja baja, the climate is somewhat warmer and more balanced. Here, the Atlantic climate of the north, the Mediterranean climate of the Ebro and the continental climate of the Castilian high plateau come together ideally. In aldeanueva de ebro, a tranquil spot set against an impressive mountain backdrop, bodegas pastór díaz has taken a leading role in the region. The roots of this almost 100-hectare bodega go back to the 19th century - continuity and reliability are very important here, and the male descendants have been called gonzalo pastór for four generations. At pastór díaz, it's not the garnacha that plays the leading role, as is usually the case here, but the tempranillo. This variety grows at an altitude of 600 metres on arid soil at the foot of the Monte Yerga mountain range and, in combination with the rich garnacha, produces powerful wines of refined elegance. In the impressive cellar, American and French barrels sit harmoniously side by side - here, cellar manager gonzalo pasto junior swears by perfectly matched cuvées. Bodegas pastór díaz is an exciting new discovery with wines that are extremely typical of the rioja region. Allergene:enthält sulfite
