Since the death of stéphane moreau at the end of august 2016, his wife virginie has taken over the domaine and is committed to continuing the direction taken to date. With meticulous work in the vineyard, long ageing and light filtration, the estate's Chablis wines are asserting their character, with depth and salinity. The domaine has now settled on long ageing processes that neither weigh down nor aromatize the local Chardonnay, harvested here just ripe. The result is tasty Chablis that are never overbearing, but perfectly digestible, and age very well. Domaine Moreau Naudet's Petit Chablis has a bright, pale gold color. The expressive nose reveals notes of white flowers, orange blossom, grapefruit, lemon and a mineral touch of gunflint. The palate is taut and fine, perfectly balanced between roundness and tension. The finish is persistent and iodized. A small Chablis that would be right at home in the Chablis appellation.
