Bordeaux appellation wines are traditionally blended and distributed according to the winemaker's decision and the terroir. Bordeaux appellation wines are light-bodied, fruity and easy to drink. They must meet strict specifications to obtain the appellation.
The 1998 vintage was very good. The dry, warm climate enabled the grapes to ripen beautifully, with thick skins that saved them from the September rains. The great wines are complex, elegant and fine. The St Emilions and Pomerols produced velvety, powerful wines, while the Margaux and Graves were more focused on fruit and finesse.
