Cave Yves Cuilleron is first and foremost a family estate. A passion for the vine has been in the family for three generations. It was in 1920 that yves' grandfather claude founded the domaine in chavanay. In 1987, yves took over the 3.5-hectare estate from his uncle antoine. The following year, the winemaker produced his first côte-rôtie vintage. After building a new winery in verlieu, yves cuilleron expanded the domaine by buying vines in saint-péray and cornas. With other winemaker friends (jean-michel gerin, pierre-jean villa, françois villard and pierre gaillard), he opens the bistrot de serine in ampuis and vins de vienne (gaillard, villard). Yves pays particular attention to the quality of his vines and refuses to accept "ready-made" solutions. His vision of viticulture is entirely personal: neither conventional, nor organic, nor biodynamic. His philosophy is simple: produce the best grapes possible. The vineyard cannot be mechanized, and the need for a large workforce is characteristic of "haute couture" vineyard work.
