The method of maturing and blending the wine by parcel is based on the fundamental idea that a wine draws its richness from the natural components of the micro-terroir in which it is grown: soil type, grape variety, microclimate, sun exposure, aridity or humidity. This wine comes from the Paveil parcel in the Margaux appellation, with a stony, gravelly terroir offering permeable, well-drained soils.

With Stéphane Derenoncourt, Maison Bouey offers a range limited to plot and grape variety: in this case, Merlot planted on clay-limestone soil. The wine is open, with discreetly woody dark berries and the hint of violet typical of ripe Merlot. Full-bodied and well-balanced on the palate, combining round, tender flesh with the freshness of young, racy tannins. All in all, a fine impression of elegance that should be confirmed with age.
