The patrick baudouin estate extends over thirteen hectares of vines on the beautiful terroirs of "anjou noir", a region of schist, sandstone and volcanic rock. The wines? Savennières, quarts de chaume, red anjou from cabernet, dry white anjou and sweet layon from chenin, all organically grown. Patrick Baudouin works to create his wines, not to make them. In the cellar: no yeasting, no chaptalization, and very limited use of sulfur. The domaine offers terroir-driven wines that can speak to you, in your glass, of their birthplace, wines with great expression and ageing potential. This quest for terroir expression and respect for the biotope requires a great deal of human effort. The winemaker has also confirmed his commitment to terroir by acquiring a hectare of quarts de chaume in 2008, and planting a hectare of chenin in savennières in 2009. In 2008, patrick created a wine trading company, "patrick baudouin vins".
