In a few words ...

Assembly : 100% marsanne vinification : after whole-grape pressing, the must is cold-settled for 24 to 48 hours. Around 50% of the volume is vinified in new demi-muids, with the remainder fermenting in vats. The wine : maison chapoutier's méal blanc ermitage 2014 is a bold, intense cru, with a splendid golden yellow color shining with a thousand lights. The nose is powerful and greedy, with a tangled bouquet of caramelized pineapple, brioche, celery, lemon oil, minerality and toasted almonds, with a delicately woody background. The attack, a combination of fat and minerality, evolves in amplitude, then bursts into a complexity of exotic freshness, very fine, even stunningly fine. Wonderfully long finish, enhanced by roasted almonds.
