Wine 2015 clos du bourg moelleux 1ère trie huet, vouvray deep golden yellow color nose everything in this 1st trie shows lush ripeness, depth and complexity. The 'clos du bourg' smells like a big basket of ripe stone fruit, fresh-cut mirabelle plums, apricots and peaches, and more of the same in candied and dried form. Add honeydew melons, kumquats and raisins. The whole is covered by a bewitching haze of butterscotch. palais la 1ère trie is undoubtedly a wine to cellar now, to open the first bottle perhaps in five years and the last in fifty. And yet, clos du bourg is hard to put down after the first trial bottle. It's already too juicy, the acidity of the 2015 vintage too perfect for us not to want to enjoy the greatness of this wine right now. Clos du Bourg presents itself as an unctuous wine on the tongue. The fruit of peach, quince, papaya, yellow plum, orange and melon is as concentrated as it is complex. The spices that come into play beg to be associated with Arabic or Asian cuisine, marked by curry, saffron, coconut and ginger. But of course, classic French cuisine also has answers to suit this great chenin blanc.
