Domaine de Coste Chaude grows 23 hectares of vines on a hilltop east of Visan, at an altitude of around 360 meters, giving the wines a natural freshness! This Côtes du Rhône Villages Visan is a structured, powerful wine, a Grenache-Syrah blend. Part of the cuvée is aged in concrete vats. The other part of the Syrah is aged in demi-muids, the Grenache Noir in foudre, for a minimum of 12 months.

Appearance
Brilliant garnet-red colour, with slightly tiled highlights, a sign of its age.
Aroma
The nose discreetly unveils its complex bouquet: first cherry, then menthol and green tea, followed by licorice and cocoa.

Taste
Seductive on the palate, the wine begins with a round, greedy attack, underlined by spicy aromas (licorice, cinnamon) and enhanced by a discreet touch of black fruit. It then reveals a pleasant freshness, supported by fine, smooth tannins.

The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages Visan is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine de Coste Chaude and its 15 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
