With a degree in viticulture, marcel richaud took over the family estate in 1974. Passionate about vines and terroir, he obtained invaluable advice from the rabasse-charavin winemakers. Extremely gifted and rigorous, this winemaker is adept at the most natural growing techniques possible. In 2015, he joined forces with other winegrowers to draw up the specifications for the Côtes du Rhône Villages Cairanne appellation, which limits the use of weedkillers, sulfites and motorized equipment in the vineyards. Proud of his 60-hectare estate, marcel richaud is one of the finest winemakers in provence and the southern rhône valley. For years, his cuvées have been crowned with awards and success among wine lovers. The entire range reaches a remarkable level, immediately seductive and gaining in finesse and precision. Made from plots of old vines, this wine is rich, powerful and complex. The nose reveals beautiful aromas of prune, cocoa, black cherry and spices. The palate is suave, with magnificent notes of ripe black fruit, smoke and spices. The length on the palate is endless.
