In a few words ...

Gianni brunelli - rosso di montalcino 2019the gianni brunelli estate is located in the commune of montalcino, in southern tuscany. It was founded in 1987 when gianni brunelli bought chiuse di sotto, a small vineyard that had once belonged to his father. As a reminder of his father, a small plot of vines planted by him in 1947 is still preserved. The estate comprises 5 hectares in a single block, of which 2 hectares are planted with Sangiovese grapes, while the remainder is planted with olive groves, which have been farmed organically since the beginning. In the mid-1990s, Gianni and his wife Laura bought Podernovone. Located on the southeastern slopes of montalcino, it comprises a 4.5-hectare estate planted with sangiovese (for the production of brunello) and merlot (for the production of amor costante). The artwork on the wine label is called "elvira with a hat", created by harvard economist and painter richard m. Goodwin. Goodwin, who was a frequent guest at the Osteria Le Logge and a dear friend of the Brunelli couple. Rosso di Montalcino is made from Sangiovese grapes grown at an altitude of 500 meters in the Podernovone vineyards. The grapes are harvested by hand and vinified at 28°C for 5-6 days, with maceration lasting 18 days. The wine is matured for 10 months in 5, 10, 21 and 25 hectoliter Slavonian oak barrels.Specifications: 100% Sangiovese
