Dense ruby red with violet highlights. Typically intense bouquet of fresh red and black berries. Medium-bodied structure with elegant tannins, discreet notes of plum and white pepper and a persistent finish. The grapes used for il leo come exclusively from two of chianti's most prized sub-regions, the hills of arezzo and the monteriggioni region near siena. Typical red wine vinification, where the different grape varieties are vinified separately from each other. After fermentation at strictly controlled temperatures, the young wine is blended and aged for at least 9 months in stainless steel and concrete vats before being bottled for sale. Ruffino was founded in 1877 in Pontassieve, near Florence, by two cousins, Ilario and Leopoldo Ruffino. Their focus on growing quality grapes and exploiting the specific terroirs of their vineyards quickly made them a household name. Thanks to the care they took in the vineyard and cellar, the name ruffino quickly became synonymous with particularly clean, well-balanced wines. After the Second World War, ruffino acquired Villa di Montemasso, its first estate in Chianti Classico. Thanks to the acquisition of other wineries in Tuscany's best-known sub-regions, today ruffino can offer chianti classico, brunello di montalcino and vino nobile di montepulciano under a single brand, while the wineries behind it continue to exist. Today, Ruffino is one of the world's best-known wineries, representing the consistency and quality of Chianti and Tuscany. It's no surprise that ruffino chianti docg received its very first guarantee band in 1984, when chianti was first recognized as a docg wine. Allergene:enthält sulfite
