The winemaker

Agricola San Felice is recognized as an innovative company, both for its ability to anticipate trends and for its intense research and experimentation. Over time, its production style aims to reinforce the typical character and uniqueness of its territory, while maintaining a close link with tradition. This status is confirmed by the company's history, which, as early as the late 60s, witnessed the birth of Vigorello, a wine of new conception, the origin of the famous Supertuscan. Then, in the 70s, came the first production of Poggio Rosso, at that time a first and rare example of a Chianti Classico "cru". But it was perhaps in the early days of research into indigenous grape varieties, in the late 80s, that the San Felice philosophy found its highest expression. Contrary to the trend of many producers at the time, who tended to focus on international varieties, San Felice, in its experimental vineyard, the Vitiarium, identified certain forgotten indigenous grape varieties, and destined them for the future label, in alliance with Sangiovese. These were years of work, underpinned by a sincere vocation for improvement, in the knowledge that the most important discovery is always tradition.
