The winemaker

Terre di Campo Sasso has matured into a joint project of regional oenologists, Puglia and Sicily winemakers and producers. Northern know-how falls on fertile southern Italian soil. The wines are vinified locally in existing cellars in the immediate vicinity of the vineyards, so there are no long journeys the quality of the grapes can negatively affect. Also for quality reasons, the wines are bottled and packaged at a highly professional company in Trento. Under the direction of winemaker Allesandro Michelon, over 200 families in Sicily and Puglia are connected to Terre di Campo Sasso. Old, dilapidated vineyards have been repaired and are now cultivated close to nature. The winemakers, most of whom are farmers with very small plots of land, provide grapes from their 50+ year-old estates. In Sicily, it's mainly the indigenous grape varieties Nero d'Avola, Grillo and also Shiraz that dominate. Puglia, however, is home to mature Primitivo and delicate Negroamaro. All Terre di Campo Sasso wines possess deep fruitiness, shining through elegance and bringing Terroir du Sud.
