The winemaker
The Vietti winery traces its roots back to the 19th century. But the winery only began bottling its own wine at the beginning of the 20th century, under the impetus of Mario Vietti. Whereas the family farm had been rather versatile, Mario Vietti specialized in vineyards. In 1952, Alfredo Currado continued to produce wine from the family vines, as well as from the surrounding vineyards, enabling the estate to break into the American market. The winemaker also undertook the revival of old grape varieties such as arneis.
