In a few words ...

With 20 hectares of vineyards, Ferrière is the smallest of all the Crus Classés in the Margaux appellation. Owners since 1988, Claire Villars-Lurton and her family have restored the estate to the lustre befitting its rank as a 3rd Cru Classé, restoring the château, taking charge of the vineyards and installing state-of-the-art technical equipment. The cru is advised by oenologist Eric Boissenot. On a terroir of gravel and sand with limestone substratum, the vineyard is made up of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and the remainder Cabernet Franc. The estate is certified organic. J. Suckling : 93-94/100
