In the vineyard: Our Gewurztraminer VENDANGE TARDIVE are all from the oldest parcels of Domaine HUGEL, located in the heart of the Grand Cru Sporen, where we farm most of the 4.84 hectares of original terroir. Harvest date: October 15, 2009 Potential alcohol: 17°2 Vinification : After settling for a few hours, the must is transferred to tuns or vats, where fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures (18-24°C). A single racking before winter, when the wine clarifies naturally. Light filtration to respect the life of the wine before bottling in spring, followed by bottle ageing in our cellars until sale. The half-bottles have been corked with DIAM le bouchon without cork taste. This will prevent premature evolution of the half-bottles.
Appearance
The colour is still very young, despite this fine 2009 vintage, with quite a few light green reflections associated with straw yellow and lemon, and grapes with a subtle touch of over-ripeness that adds density.
Aroma
An enchanting bouquet that immediately makes you dream and salivate, aromatic and fruity, where the Gewurztraminer spreads out its splendid bouquet of rose, jasmine, reseda, acacia flower and mango.
Wine Fruity
Taste
On the palate, it's a wave of caresses, soft, mellow, juicy, pulpy to perfection. A sensation of finesse and refinement persists despite the sweetness due to overripeness.
