The winemaker
The Schlossberg vineyard is located in the neighboring community of Dorsheim and is planted exclusively with Riesling vines: changing soil conditions significantly affect the nature of the different layers of slate-gray Taunusquartzite and Pittermännchen.
For many years, Schlossgut Diel has been one of Germany's most prestigious vineyards. The father-daughter team of Armin Diel and Caroline focuses on growing Pinot and Riesling varieties. Today, the famous Schlossgut Diel is best known for its white wines, which account for 90% of production. Two-thirds of the total 25 hectares of vines are planted with Riesling, the rest with white and red Burgundies. The latter matures for a long time in small oak barrels, some of which are renewed every year. The two prestigious wines in the Burgundy line dedicated to children: Pinot Noir Caroline and Cépage Blanc Victor. This exceptional wine is mainly found on the wine lists of top restaurants and well-stocked wine retailers.
