The winemaker

My father grew them tomatoes, grains, tobacco and vines he brought grapes to the wine cooperative in the village. Child I dreamed of being winemaker and from the age of 14 I started viticulture and oenology studies. In 1997, after working for 5 years in Alsace, I chose to return to the family land and build a winery to make my wine there. 1998 was my first vintage. The estate now covers 22 hectares in the hills on a gravel soil and clay and limestone. The vineyards are organically grown since 2000 and biodynamic since 2002. To overcome two consecutive years of small (50% in 2006 and 13 ha to 100% in 2007), we buy, from the 2007 vintage, a little grape grower to a friend who has a very nice plot on a soil clayey limestone scree under gravel. The grapes are purchased products with strict specifications and are intended solely for the vintage wine is a party (not certified organic). We pay much attention to the work and care of the vines, because it is the sum of small details practiced throughout the year that will make a big difference in quality on arrival. In the cellar, too, we are working smoothly to respect the grape but mostly we support them for they express the terroir where they come from and the unique character of each vintage.
