The history of Domaine Bordenave


The history of Domaine de Bordenave began in 1676 in Monein in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, in the heart of Béarn. Winegrowing is a real passion in the Bordenave family. The love of vines and wine and the know-how have been passed down from generation to generation. At the dawn of the XXIᵉ century, Domaine Bordenave was restructured and modernized. In 1993, Domaine Bordenave produced its first vintage wine. Recently, Domaine Bordenave has been gradually moving towards organic production.

Characteristics of the terroir and vineyard on Domaine Bordenave land


Jurançon is located in the Pyrenean Piedmont, south of Pau, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department. It covers 1,000 hectares. Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng are the main grape varieties used to make Jurançon wines. The wines are exclusively white, sweet and dry.

The wines of Domaine Bordenave


Domaine Bordenave makes dry Jurançon wines, such as Terroir des Hommes. Sweet wines range from mellow, like Cuvée des Dames, to more syrupy, like Cercle des Amis. Organic wines, both sweet and dry, are gradually making their appearance.
