The winemaker
Château Maresque is one of France's oldest vineyards. On a clay-limestone terroir, wines are made from Mauzac, Loin de l'œil (Len de l'el) and Sauvignon for dry white wines; Duras, Braucol (Fer Servadou), Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for red wines. The Château Maresque brand was created in 1999 by Lucas Schutte. The 13-hectare estate, which has existed for over three centuries, is located in the heart of the Gaillac vineyards, on the best slopes.
