The winemaker

The terroir of the Grands Crus of Cahors

Château de Rouffiac covers more than 45 hectares, the majority of which is over 40 years old. Belonging to the Cahors wines, located in the Lot valleys, this terroir, made up of hillsides and terraces on clay soil, produces so-called "ageing" wines. At Domaine Rouffiac, the main grape varieties are Malbec, Tannat and Merlot.

Simple, effective wines

Château de Rouffiac offers AOC Grand Cru de Cahors wines. They are renowned for their youthful, explosive and powerful tannins. The color is often deep red, almost black. On the nose, Château de Rouffiac offers woody flavors with morello cherry or blackcurrant aromas. It can be kept for up to six years, and is ideal for convivial dishes such as duck breast or a cheese platter.
