Built in the 1930s as a farmhouse surrounded by a peach orchard, Mas of the Lioness was turned into winery in the mid 1950s produced since wine Cotes du Rhone reds and rosés remarkable. Located within a stone's throw from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the field of "Lioness" is named after the district of the city of Sorgues where it is located. Tradition has it that this area of the city was named in memory of a lioness would have escaped from a traveling circus and have lived in the woods surrounding the early 20th century. It remains the only winery run by an American owner in the southern Côtes du Rhône. The field no longer limited to produce wine from their own vineyard but has become a wine trading company. This change allows us to expand our offering to other names relatives, such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
