Vallée du Rhône
Maison Delas
(92 customer reviews)
The Maison Delas vineyards planted their roots in the Rhône Valley in 1960. Over the decades, the number of vineyards has increased, in 2006 in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation and in 2015 in Tain-l'Hermitage. With these 180 years of history, Maison Delas has built up an extensive winegrowing heritage, divided between 5 parcels: les Bessards (Hermitage Rouge), la Landonne (Côte-Rôtie), le Clos Boucher (Condrieu), Sainte-Epine (Saint-Joseph Rouge) and le Clos (Crozes-Hermitage Blanc). The winemaker
Maison Delas, founded in 1835, is the place to go for good Rhône wines. A look back at a centuries-old history, an exceptional terroir and wines that have grown in quality over the years.
In 1996, the management of Delas Frères was taken over by Fabrice Rosset. He was to play a major role in modernizing the business. He surrounded himself with technical experts such as Jacques Grange in 1997. He also expanded the estate in the 2000s.
Hermitage comes from the terroirs of les Bessards and les grandes Vignes. Their particularly granitic soils allow the Syrah grape to flourish, even though these plots are on the hillside and laid out in a staircase. Crozes-Hermitage belongs to the Grands Chemins terroir, with the same grape variety and soil. However, it is located in a valley.
Maison Delas Frères offers red and white wines to suit all food and wine pairings. In the first category, we find La Côte Rôtie with its notes of fruit and licorice, or St Joseph, very woody with notes of black fruit. As for white wines, Le domaine des Tourettes offers toasted brioche and vanilla aromas, while La Galopine is light and fruity.
