Gigondas La Cave: terroir and vineyard

Gigondas La Cave refers to both an estate and a winery located in the Vaucluse department overlooking the Ouvèze valley on the west side. The estate is located in the small commune of Gigondas, where vine-growing was introduced as early as the twelfth century by certain religious orders. Covering some 260 hectares, the terroir benefits from a Mediterranean climate and a relief that is sometimes stony, sometimes sandy.

Gigondas La Cave: typical wines with strong character

Since 1956, the winegrowers have been applying integrated viticulture with respect for ancestral values. The estate's wines are produced under multiple appellations, including Gigondas, Vacqueyras and Beaumes De Venise. The Gigondas red is characterized by a deep, dark garnet color. On the palate, young bottles are powerful, while long-aged wines are more supple.
