If, one fine day in 1899, Jean-Baptiste Marius Rigot hadn't left his family's village of Violès to return and settle a stone's throw away, in the stony plain of the Quartier des Hauts Débats in Jonquières, we certainly wouldn't know today of the characteristic "Trésor des Garrigues" that has made the reputation of Domaine Rigot.
For generations, the Rigot "dynasty" has been perpetuated in Violès, where in the past no fewer than 18 families bore the name.
