The winemaker

A biodynamic enthusiast, Marc Kreydenweiss is based in Alsace on 13.5 hectares, at the foot of the Vosges mountains, and in the Rhône Valley on Domaine des Perrières. Antoine, the son, now runs this little jewel, surrounded by his family and their horse. The family are artists at heart, collaborating with artists on their labels to give their bottles a unique character. Wine and art are a perfect match, and you can order them on Twil. Words from the producer (Marc): "All my life, I've let my intuition guide me. Leading a healthy lifestyle, I wanted to apply it to my vineyard. I originally wanted to go organic, but with the advice and support of Monsieur Bouchet, I went even further and converted my entire estate to biodynamic viticulture. The greatness of a wine is in the juice! What's interesting about what I've been doing for the last 3 years is that I'm harvesting much earlier, to get crisp fruit that takes on all the minerality of the soil and is just ripe enough to keep lightness, finesse and a lovely length on the palate. I work hard to bring out the minerality of my terroir. Thanks to biodynamic viticulture, I'm able to preserve this ecosystem and the interactions between all the elements in the soil, to offer fine, crisp wines with substance and good length."
