Domaine Farjon
(13 customer reviews)
Difficult to access, perched on a steep slope, the village of Malleval only reveals itself to those who deserve it. Yet it was here, in 1991, that a young farmer named Thierry decided to plant vines. Domaine Farjon was born! Taken over by other winegrowers in 1995, it now covers nine hectares. Find out more

The winemaker
100% producer-harvesters, our estate is located in Malleval, a fortified medieval village clinging to a rocky spur in the foothills of the Massif Central, along the Rhône River in the Pilat regional nature park. On this poor, steep and difficult-to-access soil, only the vines can grow and give the best of themselves in the highly renowned appellations of St Joseph and Condrieu. From pruning to harvesting, we work by hand, without insecticides or acaricides. We produce red and white St Joseph, Condrieu and red and white vin de pays.
A member of the Fédération des Vignerons Indépendants, Domaine Farjon covers nine hectares. As organic farmers, the craftsmen use neither insecticides nor acaricides. Similarly, all operations are carried out by hand to respect the delicate nature of the vines. Thanks to these precautions and the unique microclimate, Domaine Farjon is able to produce two exceptional wines: St-Joseph and Condrieu.
Roussanne and Marsanne are the two grape varieties used to make St Joseph white wines. Aged for seven months in casks, they are sometimes available in a red version. In this case, the winemakers use Syrah. Perfectly suited to granite soils, Viognier is the grape variety used to make Condrieu. Fresh and dry, it is the pride of Domaine Farjon.
