The winemaker

A family story

The Anglès family, who run the estate, have lived in the village of Jonquerettes since the early 17th century. The first vines appeared in 1910, however, and it wasn't until 1986 that Vincent Anglès established the estate as a domaine. He was joined in 1992 by his brother Xavier, and now produces typical, high-quality wines.

Provencal terroir for distinctive vineyards

Faithful to the winemaking traditions of the southern Rhône Valley, the Domaine du Bois de Saint Jean offers wines faithful to the appellations it defends, on a generous 50-hectare terroir. Produced with respect for the terroir and meticulous vinification, the wines are distinctive, generally powerful and fruity because they are bursting with sunshine.

The wines of Domaine du Bois de Saint Jean

Production is centered on four appellations. Côtes du Rhône Villages Gadagne, Côte du Rhône for the two largest (21 and 20 hectares respectively), a more confidential but highly qualitative production of Vacqueyras (4.5 hectares) and finally a well-structured Châteauneuf-du-Pape with great ageing potential (on 0.5 hectares), which sets the benchmark.
