The winemaker

On the Costières de Nîmes in the Rhone Valley wine region, you'll find the Rapatel estate. The Rapatel estate is that of a free man. Labels, AOCs and oenological methods are not for him. Rapatel is me, it's what I like, what I like, what I want to share. Fashion? Never heard of it. I don't do Coke. I do what I feel like doing." And Gérard Eyraud does it with the most beautiful technique: he makes the grapes speak. He even makes it sing... At the gateway to the Camargue, between Roman Nîmes and white Arles, lies Domaine de Rapatel. Alternately bathed in sunshine and battered by the Mistral wind year-round, its terroir produces highly concentrated grapes that go on to produce gourmet, aromatic red and white Rhône Valley wines. The owner uses phytotherapy in his vineyards and produces mostly natural wines. Growing naturally is not a new science for him, but a matter of course! From this blend of love and sunshine come southern wines with authentic flavors, all the subtleties of which emerge at the long-awaited moment of tasting.
