This Côtes-du-Rhône comes from very fine terroirs and low-yielding old vines, giving it a definite aptitude for ageing, a far cry from the thirst-quenching wines of the region. The altitude of the plots also preserves its freshness. the 2015, with its ripe black fruits, is a magnificent expression of the best that the southern rhône valley has to offer... 65% grenache, 25% mourvèdre, 10% syrah. Grenache over a hundred years old, mourvèdre over 60 years old, syrah 45 years old on average. More than 100 selected plots, mainly in northern Vaucluse, mainly in the Dentelles de Montmirail. Mourvèdre and Syrah with southern exposure and high altitude.

The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Xavier Vignon and its 15 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
