VINEYARD LOCATION: In the commune of Lafare in the Vaucluse department, 35 km northeast of Avignon, in the heart of the Dentelles de Montmirail, a mountain range that extends from Mont Ventoux towards the Rhône. The vines are planted in a south-facing cirque between 250 and 350 meters altitude. VINIFICATION: Hand-picked and sorted into crates. Whole bunches pressed. Vinification in barrels for the Viogniers, followed by malolactic fermentation and ageing on fine lees with stirring. Vat vinification for Grenache and Clairette at 14°C without malolactic fermentation. Final blending and bottling in spring. AGE OF VINES: 10 years AREA: 1 ha PRODUCTION: Maximum 35 hl

The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine de Cassan and its 6 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
