In a few words ...
This cuvée is a blend of three grape varieties: 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre. While Grenache is the oldest, at 40 years, the others follow with a difference of 10 to 15 years, and all have their roots in the slopes of the Ventabren massif, in south/southeast-facing plots of land at "Les Camioles", with sandy soil, and "Les Banettes", with clay, giving yields of 25 to 30 hectoliters per... hectare, or six or seven bunches per vine. Aroma
The nose opens with notes of blackcurrant liqueur, candied orange peel and Morello cherry, followed by a blend of grilled and smoky spices.

Taste
On the palate, the suave, round, fleshy attack of ripe red fruit is followed by notes of spice and pepper, all in perfect balance with a lovely structure and tight tannins.

Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages Roaix
The appellation Côtes-du-Rhône-Villages Roaix is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Domaine Pique-Basse and its 12 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
