LA PETITE CÔTE - Origin: South/Southeast-facing, terraced vineyards above the commune of Chavanay. La Petite Côte is not a place name, but a brand name used to identify the cuvée. - Terroir: muscovite granite. - Grape variety: Viognier. - Viticulture: vines planted at high density, 8000 /10000 vines per hectare. Insecticide- and pesticide-free, the number of treatments is limited according to ... the weather, very little fertilizer is used, exclusively organic, respecting the balance of the soil and the plant. Control of vigor and yields, leaf thinning, green harvesting for better grape ripening. - Vinification: grapes are harvested and sorted by hand. Pressing and settling. Alcoholic fermentation in barrels, without racking, with regular stirring of the lees. Malolactic fermentation also in barrels, with natural yeasts. - Aging: 9 months in barrels, on lees, without racking, with regular stirring. - Production: approx. 30,400 bottles. Read more

The appellation Condrieu is part of the region of Vallée du Rhône from France which include Cave Yves Cuilleron and its 27 cuvées. Spread over The Rhone Valley and its rich, complex terroirs. The region is divided into two distinct subregions: Northern Rhone (known as Rhône Septentrional) and Southern Rhone (Rhône Méridional). In the former we find strong wines in beautiful colours with warm, spicy notes, produced by vineyards that stretch 4,700 ha along the Rhone. The latter, with an area of 71,000 ha, is much more important, and this is evident of course in its annual production of red, rosé and white wines quite unlike those of the Northern Rhone., this region is 3 million hectolitres per year of red wines, rosés, dry and sparkling white wines, and natural sweet wine..
