Clos Bellane

3.9
(9 customer reviews)
Clos Bellane was acquired by Stéphane Vedeau in 2010. Located in the heart of the Drôme region, the vineyard boasts breathtaking views of the Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail. Stéphane Vedeau's aim is to create a wine that combines generosity and respect for the environment. To best express the terroir, the winemaker himself selects the wood for his barrels, giving the wine its full flavor. The 48 hectares have been certified AB since 2014. His red wine is made from Grenache and Syrah, and his white wine from Roussanne, Marsanne, Viognier and Clairette. Find out more

The winemaker

Le Clos Bellane, an idyllic estate

Nestled in the Vaucluse, close to the Enclave des Papes, the Clos Bellane vineyard, surrounded by forests, with beehives and truffle fields, was acquired in the early 2010s by Stéphane Vedeau. Thanks to a love of tradition combined with modern innovations, the work in the vineyard blends human hands with cutting-edge technologies.

A unique environment for Clos Bellane

At an altitude of over 400 meters, the Clos Bellane estate has the particularity of maintaining a particularly cool and constant temperature all year round, contributing to the healthy development of the vines and the production of great vintages. Almost 50 hectares of vineyards are planted with red grapes (Syrah and Grenache) and white grapes (Marsanne, Viognier and Roussanne).

The Clos Bellane wines

Clos Bellane offers several AOC Côtes du Rhône cuvées, each with its own individuality depending on the majority grape variety used. On the white side, a roussanne cuvée will be lighter and more precise with its acidic aspect, perfect for an aperitif glass. Viognier, on the other hand, offers a more powerful, complex wine that remains perfectly balanced on the palate, accompanying a meat or fish dish. On the red side, Clos Bellane's Grenache grapes provide a refreshing wine, while the estate's Châteauneuf-du-Pape offers a more concentrated yet subtle taste.
