Château Grillet is an insider's wine that doesn't give itself away easily, but possesses great finesse, tension and magnificent aromatic complexity. A great wine for laying down, it requires patience to reveal all its magic... Its mineral expression is often accompanied by a marine freshness, almost iodized and sometimes even mentholated. The aromatic spectrum is broad and varied. Floral elegance... (rose, violet, lime blossom) and fruity sweetness (pear, pineapple, apricot) can also be accompanied by warmer, greedier notes such as honey, nougat, hazelnut, vanilla, white truffle or spices like saffron. A remarkably well-balanced wine, with a dominant fatness enhanced by excellent acidity, Château-Grillet goes perfectly with truffled foie gras, roasted turbot, braised lobster, scallops or Bresse poultry in cream sauce.
