The winemaker

The History

The Château du Mourre du Tendre is a family estate for 7 generations, located on a privileged terroir in the heart of Provence. Paul Vérité-Paumel, represents the 7th generation of winegrowers. The property is built on a "Mourre" which in Provençal means small hill, "du Tendre" which reminds us of the "carte du Tendre": the hill of love.

The Vineyard

The estate produces four types of wines: Châteauneuf du Pape, God’s plan, Côtes du Rhône Villages, Côtes du Rhône. The cultivation of the vine is traditional and reasoned, with a constant concern for balance, respect for the vine and the environment. No insecticides are used. The grapes are exclusively hand-picked and sorted before they arrive at the winery.

Vinification

The harvest is not destemmed. The vatting period is long in order to extract a maximum of colour and aromas. The wines of Château du Mourre du Tendre are kept with great care in cellars at constant temperature. Bottling at the property is carried out without filtration (only racking and fining). This allows the wines to age well and become Great Wines for Keeping. The estate markets its wines after three to four years of ageing.
