The winemaker
The history of Domaine Yves Cuilleron
The first vines were planted by Yves Cuilleron's grandfather, Claude Cuilleron, in 1920. Yves took over the reins of the 3.5-hectare vineyard in 1987. In 1988, he produced his first vintage of Côte-Rôtie. In the years that followed, he was busy expanding the estate's land holdings, setting up new projects and establishing new collaborations.
The Domaine Yves Cuilleron: a rare spirit
Situated on a 90-hectare estate in the Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Saint-Péray, Côte Rôtie and Cornas terroirs, Yves Cuilleron harvests his grapes by hand and is keen to adopt natural yeast fermentation. Yves Cuilleron is particularly keen to carry out parcel-by-parcel vinification, so that each plot of land and each grape variety can retain its character.
Some Domaine Yves Cuilleron wines
- In AOP Saint Joseph Blanc, the Domaine offers "Digue", planted exclusively in Roussanne, with aromas of white flowers and citrus fruit. On the palate, the wine is round and well-balanced.
- In AOP Condrieu, "Verlieu" is very floral on the nose, with a fruity note of peach and apricot on the palate.
- In AOP Côte-Rôtie, "Bonnivières" has a mineral freshness reminiscent of the terroir, revealing notes of black fruit and smoky wood.
